Need volunteer help on international project

Hi Guys (and Gals),

I just posted this request on Craigslist- both San Diego and San Francisco because I completely forgot about this group (a few years back, I arranged for some speakers from SDPHP to speak at a business group I ran). In the post below, I didn't give out the url, but I will do it here: the main portal is at http://www.caltrade.com and the community portal (developed in PHP/mySQL) is at http://network.caltrade.com. I'm in Pacific Beach and it would be really cool to work with someone local here in San Diego.

Cheers

Rob Gordon

Hi,

I have been working on an international business project for longer than I care to admit. To describe this in a nutshell it is an "online business community with an integrated trade opportunity matching service". I've been working with a developer on the East Coast for some time, and he is excellent, but he drops out for long periods of time without warning, and the project can no longer sustain this. This project is really interesting and could help large numbers of people. Specifically, I am looking for the following:

*PHP/mySQL programmer
*Open source experts- especially for the following:
-PHPbb (just loaded 3.0 had have an immediate need to modify a script to make it work with the rest of the service).
-PHP Link Directory
-WordPress (not for a blog- a very unique application).
-Online community development

Unfortunately, this project has no funding at all, but it is a really good cause and there are many things we can do to make it worth your while. For just one, it should be excellent source for business development and referrals. Also, the way this is set up, there are several "stand alone" projects that can be sliced off to make it more interesting, and equity position or joint ventures are a possibility.

Let me know if any of this intrigues you, and I will send you the urls of the project. Since this is a volunteer thing, I don't expect a huge time commitment- even a few hours a week would help- and this is a really fantastic project that could even impact economic development in California. Please drop me a note and let me know a bit about your expertise- I'm pretty sure you will agree that this is a cool project.

Rob

p.s. Although I am mostly looking for technical people with this post, I am also open to discussions with other professionals- marketing, etc - especially if you are interested in international business.

Responding to my own post

Hi,

Is it tacky to respond to my own post? My developer split and I really need some help with this application http://network.caltrade.com - even some small help. I'm still not funded, but I'm sure I can make it worth your while.

Responding to my own post

heh nah not tacky :) I don't remember your post, but I just wanted to post
back and say that we're here.. you're not all alone! :)
So what is it that you are having problems with? If you have questions, you
can send it to the list and one of us might be able to answer your
questions...
